Summary
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), the Central Government, via Ministry of Home Affairs Notification S.O. 4505(E) dated 14th August 2026, has directed Census Officers to collect information using a 40-item list of questions for the Household Schedule during the Census of India 2027.
