UGC-NET June 2026: Challenge of Provisional Answer Keys
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official Public Notice dated 16 August 2026 regarding the challenge of provisional answer keys for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination.
The UGC-NET June 2026 exam was conducted from 22 to 30 June 2026 across 87 subjects for awarding Junior Research Fellowship, eligibility for Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes.
Key Overview of Answer Key Challenge
Provisional answer keys and recorded responses are uploaded for 84 subjects. For the remaining 3 subjects (English, Commerce, and Sociology), a separate public notice is being issued following committee recommendations regarding complaints of errors in question papers.

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Online Mode Only: Challenges must be submitted strictly online through the official website during the stipulated window with the fee. Modes like email, fax, or letter will not be accepted.
- Fee Details: Rs. 200 per question challenged, payable via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking up to 18 August 2026 (11:59 P.M.).
- Fee Refund: The fee of Rs. 200 per question will be refunded in full if the challenge is accepted by the expert panel.
- Uniform Correction: If a challenge is accepted, the correction will apply to all candidates of that subject.
- Finality: Answer keys finalised after reviewing challenges will be treated as final. No further challenge or grievance will be entertained after closure or result declaration.
Processing of Challenges
Designated subject matter experts will verify the submitted challenges. If found correct, the provisional answer key will be revised, and responses evaluated based on the revised final answer key. Individual decisions will not be communicated separately, but the revised final answer key will be published on the official website prior to result declaration.
